Kyle Harper has taken over as CEO of the family restaurant chain following his father's diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. He is widowed with 3 girls between 10 and 14. When his latest nanny leaves suddenly on the advice of Zuzu Clark, new age store clerk, to find her own happiness, Kyle talks Zuzu into covering after-school care until he gets home. Zuzu was raised in foster homes and knows what it's like to have lots of caregivers. She tries to fill the gap. Then an unexpected action by his father causes Kyle to announce his and Zuzu's engagement. Soon Zuzu is finding out what a real family is and they are exploring their possibilities.
