When Little Rabbit wishes for long, beautiful red wings, his wish comes true, but life is not at all as he'd expected. His friends, and even his own mother, don't recognize him! He learns that the best thing for a little rabbit to be is himself.
Don't Read This To My Kids

This book sends the wrong message to impressionable children. I hated it so much that I posted a video review of it on YouTube. You can find it on my channel, "Don't Read This To My Kids". Basically, when the Little Rabbit gets the titular red wings, his mother and all the other animals reject him as a stranger and he is forced to undo his wish in order to fit in again. It teaches kids that being different is bad. My video review goes into more detail. https://youtu.be/pSOI8ZVIi4E
My favorite children's book. Hands down.

It's the story of a rabbit that asks a magic wishing well for all the cool "features" of his woodland friends, such as the red wings of a cardinal, thinking that they would make him a happier rabbit. And, of course, in the end he realizes that he should be happy with who he is.

There's a beautiful hard-backed version with amazing, oversized illustrations. Pick that one up if you can.

An engaging story with a great lesson: be happy with who you are! This is a perfect book for those children who wish they have different looks. A great cuddle-up-with-me book.

This book is a great example that we should all be happy with the way we are and should not wish to be something or someone that we are not, for that changes us all together.
