I was very young when Watergate transpired, and am so pleased that the writers that brought him down were able to tell their story with so much detail. Sadly, I am not sure reporters can investigate like this anymore. Be aware, this is not the story of Nixon, it's the story of the two WaPo reporters. But what a story. I think this book is pictured in the dictionary under "pageturner."
Journalists investigate the Watergate break-in.

It's missing the last act. It suddenly stops right when it's just getting particularly intense, with a headline montage as the only resolution to the story. Apart from that, everything is flawless. Nothing ever manages to jump out and make me love it, though.

As a follow up to the film "The Post" we wanted to see this. I had seen it before but many, many years ago. Enjoyed it too although sometimes confused as to who was who. And it ends very abruptly before the scandal topples Nixon and I wasn't expecting that.
Good. Political autobiograpy by the reporters that brought down Nixon.
During the 1972 elections, two reporters' investigation sheds light on the controversial Watergate scandal that compels President Richard Nixon to resign from his post.

If you want to see how two investigative journalists uncover the case that ultimately leads to the downfall of a president, then this is the perfect film. It is not a documentary, though. if we want to get to know the Watergate case thoroughly, this is not the best film. We learn about the case through the two investigative journalists, which means (with a few minor exceptions) we always know exactly as much as the two journalists. There are no other storylines where the actions of the conspirators are presented in chronological order or the details of the official investigation. We only learn about events when someone tells the main characters about them, which can be months after they happened. This is especially disturbing towards show more the end, when the case has already grown beyond the two journalists. Fortunately the movie was made after Nixon's downfall, meaning the end of the story is not missing. show less
