This novel taken directly from the bible gives us a glimpse of Mark’s life. We first meet Mark as he is carrying water to his house which happens to be the upper room where the meeting s of the disciples took place as well as the last supper. Mark is not a believer as yet, and so we see Jesus through Mark’s skeptical eyes. He follows the crowd and witnesses Jesus crucifixion, Peter’s betrayal, and Jesus reappearances to many. I liked the book and learned more about the culture and about Mark and how he became a disciple well after Christ’s death.
For me, the Mark Story was a disapointment after reading the John's Story by the same authors. There was not much action, or historical research as their had been for the story on John, I personally thought the authors hurried this project through without putting in the time needed to make a really good story.
I really liked two of the others, this one just wasn't quite as good. I'm not sure why, maybe just my mood or what I don't know. It was good, just not as great as the others.

Timothy LaHaye was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 27, 1926. He began preaching while working at a summer camp. In 1944, he joined the Army Air Force and was a machine-gunner on bombers in Europe. He received a bachelor's degree from Bob Jones University in 1950, doctor of ministry degree from Western Theological Seminary, and a doctor of show more literature degree from Liberty University. He served a congregation in Minneapolis until 1956, then became the pastor of the Scott Memorial Baptist Church in El Cajon, California for 25 years. He wrote or helped write over 50 fiction and non-fiction books. He is the co-author of the Left Behind series and the Left Behind: The Kids series with Jerry B. Jenkins. His non-fiction works cover a wide variety of subjects including marriage, family life, depression, homosexuality, anger management, education, and politics.
