Loved this book! I One of the reasons I love this series so much is I love learning about the animals. It was so cool to read about the seals and learn about their habits ands mannerisms. It was so *cute!* that Selkie (the seal) made such a great recovery and then ended up following Mandy around like a little puppy!
The other plot in this book was much more profound and serious, though. The oil spills in the ocean, hurting all different kinds of innocent animals... I completely shared Mandy's helpless anger when she learned that there was very little they could do about the spills, and basically just had to wait and try to help the casualties before it's too late.
The climax and ending were *awesome*. And it was really show more interesting to read about the seals helping Mandy and Ross when they got stranded, just like Mandy and Ross had helped the seals get away from the oil. show less
