Fiction. Mystery. The cold, blustery Midwest winters don't exactly agree with Betsy Devonshire, but since moving to Excelsior, Minnestoa, she sure has met a lot of warm, friendly people. Betsy even offers to donate materials for the project, thinking that the free publicity will boost sales at her financially troubled needlecraft show more shop. But soon Betsy is afraid of losing more than her business—because her good intentions have unleashed some deadly secrets. show less

This is the third ijn the needlecraft mysteries and was delightful. Just what a cozy mystery should be. Betsy has to deal with the return of her ex-husband, THE PIG, multiple attempts on her lifre and the revelation of matters related to her deceased sister all the while solving the mystery.
Totally enjoyable!
These are all nice little cozy mysteries, set in a small town in Minnesota. Betsy Devonshire inherited a needlecraft shop when her sister was murdered and she keeps getting pulled into mysteries.
In this one, an old tapestry is found in a church that seems to have some mysterious symbology. Betsy begins an investigation, which makes her a target. Church scandals are fun!

Not a terrible book, and there's an interesting theme that addresses common attributes assigned to Christian saints - but I figured out the killer almost immediately; their 'tell' was way too obvious.
Another good, solid book in the series. There isn't as much of a murder mystery aspect to this book, but there is an older mystery to solve. The person who turns out to be the bad guy, although I saw it coming, made me sad. I don't want everyone in this little town to have murder in their hearts. Can't wait for book 4 in the series.
I have to say that I'd thought the knitting part of the knitting mysteries was the most important factor, and I wouldn't have expected to be following the exploits of a 50-something needlecraft shop owner with more interest than a late-20s accountant novice knitter, but I'm liking these far more than I'm liking the Sefton books. This one is about a tapestry and the clues within, and the protagonist of the book (Betsy) is actually a potential victim this time around! Looking forward to the next one.
Here we go -- Betsy Devonshire is at again - she has an uncanny - whoops make that unrealistic ability to catch murderers - so why do I keep buying and reading this series -- damned if I know!
Third in the "A Needlecraft mystery" series. It's right before Christmas, Besty finds herself involved with the mystery of a cryptic tapestry. On top of trying to make sense of the tapestry, someone is trying to kill her. All this and financial woes to keep the shop on track. In this one we get to know some of the secondary characters more and someone from Betsy's past makes an appearance. Fun and fast to read. Exactly what I needed last weekend in order to move beyond all the rain outside.
