What's Alive? by Kathleen Weidner Zoehfeld is about a girl who walks around her everyday environment and points out things that are "alive" (ex. plants) and things that are not (everyday inanimate objects). The illustrations were adorable and overall it was informational and entertaining. In a classroom setting, students could list things that are alive and that are not. For more of a challenge, take the children on a walk around the halls and outside to point out things that are alive and aren't. I really liked this book and will keep it for my students in the future.
