I think this is the first Norman Bridwell book I have read that does not begin with some variation on, "Hello, I'm Emily Elizabeth, and this is my dog, Clifford." Indeed, Emily Elizabeth isn't even in here. And, oh my, it sort of seems like Clifford might be auditioning a little boy replacement for her. Fortunately, the boy seems to be a one-time fling.

This is a reader written with less than two dozen words. Not much entertainment here unless you're making fun of it as you go.
This book teaches students how to be a friend and how to make friends. It also teaches new vocabulary words. This book is a 5 star book appropriate for ages Pre-K through 1st grade. The connection I had was my mother read this book to me when I would ask how could I make friends.
Children who watch PBS will be reunited with an old friend! TIn this book the art supports the action word in each sentence.
for young readers. simple sentences about what clifford and his new friend do (jump, run, skip)
