A young boy describes himself as "loud as a lion," "quiet as a clam," "tough as a rhino," and "gentle as a lamb." Whether brave or shy, strong or weak, in the end the young boy celebrates all different, apparently contradictory parts of himself - "Put it all together and you've got me!"

A fun collection of simile phrases, many of which are used in everyday language, as a child compares himself to all sorts of wildly different animals. The ultimate message is great: people contain contradictions, and that's a wonderful thing! ( )

Book description
Preschool children really respond well to this story. Children can catch on and come with some of their own descriptions, and we usually make a class book.
