Interesting text about the exchange between diurnal and nocturnal creatures. Simple, but the concept is interesting and it's good for unusual verb choice. Nicely done.
This book tells the story of what forest animals are doing during the day and night. It tells the information from the animals that sleep during the day’s point of view. Then you can flip the book over and it tells what other animals are doing while the other animals are sleeping. While the deer is awake the owl sleeps, and the other part of the book tells what the owl is doing while the deer sleeps. This is a good book that compares the animals that sleep in the day with the animals that sleep at night.
Summary: This book journey through the forest during the day and at night, showing all the colorful creatures who appear or disappear when the sun goes down.

Review: Forest Bright, Forest Night is an excellent book to read to children to introduce concepts of certain animals preferring daytime or nighttime. It also is an excellent way to talk about our Sun and how it moves and affects our earth.

Craft Elements/Lesson: Is it day or night time on the last page? How do you know?
Draw a picture of tree during the day or night. Include at least three animals you would see during that time.
The book was great. I liked how it flipped over and did the night next. The rhymes taught me all about animals. Its a great book.

Read this book one way to the center to see diurnal animals going about their business (and nocturnal animals sleeping in their nests and burrows); then flip it and start over from the other side and see nocturnal animals awake at night, and diurnal animals asleep.
beautiful illustrations, lots of vivid colors
