Another good mystery, suspense, and a little romance story in the Hideaway series. The author writes in such a way that you feel like you know the town and its people. When I walk away from reading I usually find myself wondering what will happen next. The town is set in the Ozarks in southern Missouri, not far from Branson.
This story picks up not long after the first book, Hideaway, ends. You have a teenager, Fawn Morrison, running for her life after she witnesses a man being killed for information she now has in her possession. Then there is Doctor Kara Lee, who finds herself doubting her doctoring abilities as she takes her first job in the town of Hideaway, and finds herself helping Fawn. Then there is Ranger Taylor Jackson who is show more lonely and finds himself enjoying being around strong-willed Kara Lee, even though they both tend to "ruffle each others feathers" at times.
I would like to quote a review done by Deborah Raney on this story as I feel she sums up the book very well; "Hannah Alexander is masterful at creating places so real, you'll be looking for them on the map; characters so endearing, you'll think of them as friends - God's intimate involvement in lives shines through on every page. . . ". Couldn't have said it better. Sit back and be prepared to enjoy your stay in Hideaway. show less
