This is one of those books that is nice to check out of the library right before school begins. My daughter and I found that the activities that were shown corresponded nicely to those that she had done last year in Kindergarten.

We enjoyed reading this book and remembering those activities and it gave us a jumping off point to discuss the upcoming school year as well. In addition, we read it to her 4 year-old brother who will be attending preschool for the first time to give him an idea of what school is like.

Three Stars. Nice premise. This book tells a little bit about Mrs. Perez's family and how busy she is as both teacher and friend to the children. I wouldn't necessarily buy this book although it is great for showing and reminding show more children what sorts of things go on in school. show less
