Carol is 13 and suffers from cerebral palsy. She lives with her parents but cannot attend a normal school or play easily with other children. What she wants most in the world is to be just an ordinary kid. She is tired of being labelled 'fragile' and of people thinking that just because her body doesn't work properly, that her mind must be 'funny' too. When there's the chance of an operation to help strengthen her leg and make her more 'normal', Carol takes it.
