We do love the Tacky stories in our house. Clumsy, well meaning, fond of loud prints and snacks, these books are fun and appealing, full of the kind of rowdy antics you get with a group of chil-I mean penguins.
This is yet another book that follows Tacky the penguin's crazy adventures! In this fictional children's picture book, Tacky and his friends put on a play for the school penguins. All of the penguins happily and excitedly practice their lines. Tacky tries too, but ends up doing completely the wrong things. During the actual play, Tacky ruins it! What will happen? How will the school penguins react to the silly play? This is a humorous and funny book to read to students! It is a great book to discuss how everyone is different, and how things might turn out differently in the end than you might expect.
Amusing take on Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but no where near as funny as the original Tacky.

The story of Tacky the Penguin and his companions Goodly, Lovely, Angel, Neatly and Perfect and their journey to putting on the play Goldilocks and The Three Bears for Mrs. Beakly’s School. The story follows the penguins as they rehearse for the big performance, everyone that is except for Tacky who appears to be doing other activities during rehearsals. On the day of the play the audience arrives and they are quite unruly. When it is Tacky’s turn to perform hilarity ensues as he goes off script and becomes a hit with the audience. In the end the play is loved by all and Goodly, Lovely, Angel, Neatly and Perfect are so happy to have Tacky as a friend. (Kim Harr)
Tacky the penguin is an odd bird, but a nice bird to have around, Tacky and his friends attempt to do the play The Three Bears.
