Walt Prothero's quest for big game has taken him through many Canadian provinces, nearly every western state, and much of Africa. He began hunting at twelve and has spent much of each of the past thirty-odd years in the field. He has worked as a wildlife research biologist, forester, fire lookout, wilderness guide, bartender, construction worker, show more writer, and teacher. Walt has advanced university degrees in English and wildlife biology. His successful hunting expeditions have led to over a hundred magazine articles, mostly in Field & Stream and Outdoor Life, and three books -- Stalking Big Game, Stalking Trophy Mule Deer, and The Hunting Adventures of Me and Joe. He currently teaches in the English and zoology departments at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah show less
