An absolutely top-notch haunted house story, albeit one (supposedly!) aimed at young readers. Packed full of quality scares, classily done. A writer to watch!
The novel, The Intruders, encompasses that you shouldnt judge someone before you get to know them. Cassie and Joel move into an old house with their mom's fiance, who they do not like. Cassie, more than Joel, is disgusted that they have to live with another family. Throughout the middle of the book, the four children learn how to work together to figure out who is haunting their new house. The two younger boys are having nightmares that seemed to be another boy's life. Towards the end, the children find out that the people haunting their house were burried in their basement the whole time.

When Joel and Cassie move into their new home with their new blended family, Joel is more than excited. Cassie, however, hates what is happening to their family. When things in the new house begin to go wrong, it is a race to see who can point the blame first. Until, the entire family realizes that no one is to blame....No one human anyway.

Whoa!! Couldn't put this one down. This is one scarry, nail biting book. Awesome. Read it in about 5 hours.
Joel Demetrius along with his mother, sister and future step-father and 2 step-brothers move into this very scary, run down house. Not only do the two families of kids not get along but there's a problem with ghosts that only the kids realize. Will the family survive the haunting?
