This is a surprisingly good story for junior grades. It is the first in a series and I think the kids would enjoy it. When Evie and Andrew turn eleven, on November 11th (11 11 11) their mother disappears, but she leaves them notes and clues so they know she isn't dead. In the first novel, they find out that their next door neighbor is someone who can help them, but they figure it out themselves. It isn't quite as fast paced as Korman's "On the Run" series, but I think those who like On The Run would also like Spy X.

In this mystery, author Peter Lerangis keeps the pace fast and the intrigue at just the right level so that middle school readers will be able to follow along easily.
