My younger sister recommended this book to me because it is a part of one of her favorite book series, and I really enjoyed reading it. The first reason I liked this book is because of the character development of Franny. Franny is a “mad scientist,” but the author makes sure to inform the reader that she is not the mean or diabolical type because she is just a little girl. Franny always wants to tell the truth, and she never wants to hurt anyone with her inventions, only help people. I like that the author makes this distinction because it doesn’t give students a bad impression or the idea that wanting to take over the world and punish people is okay. The second reason I liked this book is because of the engaging illustrations show more featured throughout the book. It is a great beginning chapter book because the pictures help the students visualize the text, but it is still a 110 page book with 20 different chapters. The illustrations are detailed for a chapter book, and they feature shading and outlining, which makes them look a little spooky. In addition, a lot of the illustrations are funny, which is always a great aspect in a book. The main idea of this book is that telling the truth is always the right option, and it will make you feel better than lying. show less

Mrs.Shelly class is voting for a class president. Franny thought that she could do whatever she wanted to do, so she made a thing that is mixed with, a cat, a soccer ball, and a gum. The kids didn't like it, so Franny had to make something new that can convince the kids so they can make Franny become the class president. Franny made a cloth, if Franny wear this cloth, the cloth can change it's shape that Franny wants. Franny knew who likes which. So, when she sees the kid that likes a rabbit with a penguin dress, Franny turns the cloth to this rabbit. Do you think Franny can be the class president?
