Joseph T. Rothrock sailed the Bay in the summer of 1883. His great-grandson and his wife duplicated that voyage during the summer of 1983. Both odysseys cover most of the Bay and the James River as far as Richmond. To make the comparison more interesting, the accounts are parallel, with photographs and texts alternating on opposite pages.Chesapeake Odysseys is particularly good for the sailor.
