What can defeat space shuttle destroying robotic mucus? A silly dance from Captain Underpants? The power of all that is pre-shrunk and cottony soft? Or could it be a squishy of vitamin C? Never mind all that. The real questions are 1) how did George and Harold end up with a pet pterodactyl, 2) how to unscramble the brains of Melvin Sneedley and Mr. Krupp, 3) and worst of all, what happens when you use an overheated Purple Potty time machine two days in a row? According to noted fourth grade author George Beard, the answer to number 3) is “It all sounds like a setup for the sequel to a really lame children’s book!”
Dav Pilkey's "Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers” is an adventure filled story centered around Melvin and Mr. Krupp switching brains. In the course of their journey to switch back Melvin and Mr. Krupp’s brains, Harold and George encounter monsters as well as travel back in time. This action packed graphic novel is a great book for upper elementary kids who enjoy not only reading a humorous and adventurous story but seeing it, too.
The puns and smart wit of these books keep me as entertained as the super hero, silliness, and gross out factors keep my son begging for more!
from James:

Requires a good memory (or not) to keep track of what happened in part 1. Unless you just want to go with the flow, which I recommend. At this point in the series, the puns and jokes have sort of run their course, but my 7 year still giggles and enjoys them.
Dav Pilkey's "Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers" is a story about Captain Underpants fight against the Bionic Booger Boy and his bad guy friends the Robo-Boogers. They travel through time, encounter monsters, and many robots while trying avoid massive boogers.

Although I didn't particularly care for "The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby" this book had the same kind of theme, but the book has more words and less pictures. Although the content is really, really silly, this book had more of a storyline to be followed. I can see how a child would enjoy this particular book. This book is funny and adventurous.

Like "The Adventures of Super Diaper Baby' this show more book could be used in a classroom library as a book to increase AR reading points or pleasure reading. show less
Harold and George's latest prank makes Melvin seek revenge. He tries to transform himself into a robot superboy. Things do not go as plan and he turns into a booger boy. This book is not something I would read but I can see how young kids, especially boys would love the series. I think that this series is a great way to get kids to love reading.
I can't believe what kind of books they write for kids nowadays... Seems to be funny, easy to read. Have to say that I liked it, too!
