If you were to choose only one book about usability, choose this one; practical, well written and oozing with real usability experience. Mike is one of the big guys with years of field-work; it shows, and I keep finding my way back to this book.
This is a hands-on book full practical information about conducting user research. There is detailed information on planning user research and participant recruiting. Most of the book focuses on user research methods, including card sorting. The text is clear and accessible, appealing to a wide range of readers.
