Description

Arkansas sisters Jenna Stafford and Carly Reece share a dry wit, an unshakable faith, and a regrettable tendency to happen across murder. Offered a free vacation in exchange for some elbow grease, Jenna and Carly dust off their cowboy boots and hightail it to Branson, Missouri. Jenna could use some time away to figure out her complicated love life. Unfortunately, the glittering lights and twanging tunes make a perfect backdrop for ... murder!

The three sisters have written another riviting mystery. It took until almost the end to figure out who-done-it, and then I wasn't sure until 'thr reveal.'

This time the Carly and Jenna travel to Branson to help a high school friend babysit a country music star, who of course, winds up dead. Jenna promises not to investigate but of course she can't keep that promise.

This book is a fun read. Carly and Jenna make a great pair. The series is fun and light-hearted and entertaining.
It was ok - more like a 2.5.

I could have done with less relationship angst and "blessing the food" sprinkled over the meals like salt (but only apparently when there was a man present to do it, which was annoying).

To our amazing extended families---in-laws, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. You're precious to us, and each of you helped shape who we are. Thank you.

And to the friendly people of Branson, Missouri, who ... (show all)make their town our favorite place to vacation!
First words
A good name is more desirable than great riches;
to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

                        Proverbs 22:1

Who in the world would name a child Holly Wood?" I glance... (show all)d over at Carly, who was engrossed in her tattered copy of Holly Wood: The Queen of Country Music.
    For that matter, who in the world would read Holly's autobiography?
But I wisely kept my hands on the wheel, my eyes on the hills and curves of the highway before us, and that last question to myself. My older sister Carly was a big fan of Holly Wood, country music's female performer of the decade. Especially since Holly was originally from our hometown of Lake View, Arkansas.
