The Time Hackers

Seems like a well-renowned author with many books & awards! Gary Paulsen's "The Time Hackers" has two 7th graders, Frank & Dorso trying to break "the code" after odd things, techno-practical "jokes" are played through Dorso's locker. First he finds a dead body & just as soon as it appears, it disappears. More pranks happen along the way while Frank & Dorso try to beat "the hackers".

This explains time travel as if it has actually been done. The only problem with reading this aloud is its reference to the boys wanting to time travel to "see naked ladies" (which is funny, but some parents/principals might not approve).

This book is book is about a boy and his friend who are receiving strange messages from the past. They think that something or someone is controlling the world's timeline from a remote time and location. Then when one boy was on his way to gym class, an unbelievably clear image of General Custer appeared right next to him. Custer then looked at the boy and got shot. That defied one of the laws of time. It states that if you go back in time and kill your ancestor, you won't exist. And if you don't exist, then you can't go back in time to kill your ancestor. It's a pretty confusing law, but it makes sense. The boys start randomly teleporting to different times and places, and in all of them, they meet a person with a device with strange show more buttons on it. In the end they find out that the guy was sad and he was doing this just to be happy.

This book was confusing. With all the time traveling, things got a little out of hand. The stranger even tried to shoot down the first plane to fly! The boys couldn't let that happen. If Wilbur or Orville Wright got hurt, then they might've not invented the airplane. Then the boys got teleported onto a pirate ship, and they almost got killed. My favorite part was when the boys went to Neanderthal France. They actually saw cavemen! I thought that pert was really cool. Saving the world from a time travel catastrophy becomes the responsibility of two seventh grade boys.

The book would be a great option for older students to enjoy and to incorporate in a discussion about or introduction to creative writing.

A fun, though brief, story with references to history and science. Good for an older reader who doesn't want a long book.

This book is about two boys named frank and dorso. after strange events that have happened for many years finally go out of control. So frank and dorso start an adventure to stop the warping of time its self. they meet many friends along the way including the ones who are responsible for the warps and there pranks on frank and dorso. with there help the boys go out to save the univers from total destruction and mayhem.

When someone uses futuristic technology to play pranks on twelve-year-old Dorso Clayman, he and his best friend set off on a supposedly impossible journey through space and time trying to stop the gamesters who are endangering the universe.
