Jim was sure this railroad project would be easier than ones he had worked on in Mexico, where his partner had ended up in front of a firing squad for choosing the wrong side to build a railroad for. All he had to do here was obtain a right of way from Cameron Travis and everyone else would fall in line. It turned out Cam was eager to have the railroad built. It had been his dream until Great Southern had bankrupted him. Now he hoped Jim would be able to accomplish the task and promised whatever help he could provide. His niece was not so inclined. Fearing Jim was nothing more than a confidence man, she pledged to fight him. Cam assured Jim he could take care of his niece, but when Cam is killed, Jim is left to sort things out on his own using his fists and his guns.… (more)
