The only conceivable knock against this book is that the creators possible plagirism and defamation of literature's great historical anti/heroes. But as an early prototype of the superhero group, the LXG is a fantastically fun romp, overflowing with all the necessary elements of action, humor, mystery and romance, with heavily adult themes and over-the-top stakes to fuel the classically wild adventure. This read feels like one of the great work of English literature from page 1. And as a bonus beyond the story, the turn-of-the-century world is further enhanced with nifty extra tidbits such as fake advertisements, posters and games at the end. It's also quite different from the movie, so don't let that stop you from perusing this fine periodical. ( ) no reviews | add a review
