Susan Canizares was born in 1960. She earned a master's degree in special education, specializing in early childhood, from New York University. She then went on to acquire a Ph.D. in language and literacy development from Fordham University. She has written numerous nonfiction books for young children, as well as professional articles for teachers show more and parents.
