This may be missing a little of the magic of the first volume, but only because it's more focused on his superhero career. There's still some great character work though. There's also the beginning of reintroductions of Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery; how one feels about the changes to many of these characters probably depends on how fondly one feels about the originals. Personally, I liked this take on the Enforcers, didn't like the Kingpin and am neutral on Electro. Your mileage may vary.
A good continuation of the story, but some of the artwork gets cluttered and hard to follow during the fight scenes.
Fun to see Peter develop his actions as a super hero, and realize how he is acting quite different when he is in his Spider-man persona, and how dangerous that is.
Having the superpowers to climb walls and to protect the city from the largest menace, Kingpin.

I like spiderman because off all the action and suspense that it has and my grandson loves the pictures.

I would use this book in my classroom to show how this person is a hero. And how he is just a person like you and I.
