Description
Myrna, a resident in a California nursing home, hopes to restore a friend's faith in mankind by proving that any one of her children would take in a stranger for the holidays, but when she calls to ask they all seem to have a reason why it would not be convenient and Myrna too becomes despondent until a miracle occurs.Tags

Matthew 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in
We are enjoined to take in the stranger and care for him, but how many of us would open our family Christmas celebration to a total stranger, an old lady from a nursing home who might be in a wheelchair and need care as well as comfort? My guess is most of us would find reasons why we just couldn’t do it.
This is a lovely little story and sure to become a Christmas favorite for me. Thanks to my lovely friend, Christine, for pointing me to this one.

A sweet Christmas book about two elderly ladies who find themselves alone in a nursing home during the Christmas season. Only one of them still believes in goodness, faith, and hope. She also believes that one phone call to her children will show that kindness to strangers still exists.
This is my favorite Christmas/family story. A mother in a nursing home is challenged by her friend to ask her children if they'll take a stranger into their home for Christmas. It's a great book about faith, hope, and kindness. If you're looking for a feel-good book, this is it!
Here is a book that really makes sense. Can you imagine yourself in this position? waiting to hear from someone? anyone? Well the story is heart wrenching and does make you think about family and friends in a different light. A fantastic read
This is a really quick read and I am so glad that the old lady, Florence, gets to spend time with a real family this Christmas.
