A wonderful book about all the different things related to the four seasons. Great book to answer Wh questions when it comes to weather, the sun/moon, day/night, the plants changing.

This book provides clear and detailed explanation of how the seasons work. The clear pictures of the different positions of the Earth compliment the simple text found throughout the book. The book provides information about precipitation, leaves changing colors, and the different types of clouds that can be used to teach about the seasons to small kids.
The Reasons for the Seasons gives great explanations of how the seasons work and simple and clear pictures of how the earth is positioned to the sun and how it looks during that season. The level of reading is at a simple text so that early readers and English Language Learners could really understand and connect with the information being covered in the book.
I would use this book with my students to teach them about the seasons and how the seasons work according to where the earth is positioned to the sun.

This informational text begins with a basic description of what causes seasons (the earth’s tilt on its axis and revolution around the sun). It then proceeds to describe each season specifically, including characteristics of that season. The book is fully illustrated with only a few sentences of text per page (that is, per page that actually includes text). The language is reasonably easy to understand for elementary students, although some concepts (such as cause of the seasons) are covered in late elementary. However, the descriptions of the seasons are appropriate for young elementary students, and overall the book offers significant, age-appropriate information on the seasons, what causes them, and how they impact the world and show more its people. This might be more engaging for students if read aloud in class, because otherwise very young students might find it difficult to focus on and to read. show less
This a higher level book that is more informational. It gives you descriptive information on each season and what it looks like in space. It explains where Earth is in relation to the sun, which is the reason for the seasons. The pictures are little older and less exciting but it can really educate the students about each season and what to expect during that season.
This is a cool book with simple descriptions and reasoning's for each season. Age appropriate for ages 4-6 years. Found at university place library.
