Description

Intended to celebrate the 70th birthday of the distinguished historian, Lawrence Stone, these essays owe much to his influence. There are also four appreciations by friends and colleagues from Oxford and Princeton and a little-known autobiographical piece by Lawrence Stone himself.

This is an amazing collection of essays collected in honor of Lawrence Stone, a great historian. Some of the essays deal directly with Stone himself, others relate closely to his work, while others are less directly connected to him. All are of matters that intererst him and are written in ways that bear his influence.
