As I'm rereading this series, I am realizing that one, they are not amazing and two, they certainly have flaws. But is that stopping me from loving them? Absolutely not.
I read this series at least twice as a younger girl, but I think this was one I usually skipped since it wasn't my favorite. Now having read the rest of the series, I can see why my younger self would do so as the earlier books aren't as good as the ones where Mandie is more grown up, but I still loved it.
This series is such a comfort to me reading again. Yes, it's cheesy. Yes, the writing is really not good at all so far, but I am just a puddle of mush for this series.
Joe is a little gem I love him so much, and I can totally see why he was one of my first book show more boyfriends ever. I'm looking forward to continuing with the series this year and sharing adventures with all of my old friends! show less

A good Christian read for younger readers (though many situations are highly improbable). It would probably not be my first choice if I was still that age, but it's still pretty good.
