This is another book that was found whilst having a clear out in the attic. It wasn't my book, it was my sister's. I've been ill recently and one day I was bored and wanted something quick and easy to read, so I thought I'd try this. I'd read a couple of books by the same author, but I wasn't expecting great things from it which was kind of good because I wasn't disappointed.
I have to say that I didn't particularly enjoy this book at all, it wasn't even half-decent. I expected that it would be typical 'chick-lit' and be about boys and sex, the lack of both, and the attempts made by the female characters in the book to get both. It was in that vein, but it seemed to be more invested in male-bashing, showing how bad and a waste of time show more men are - which then makes you wonder why the girls in the book are so desperate to get one. The three main characters all have involvements with men who are sub-par in some way; two of these are also horrendous stereotypes, one of gay men and the other of Italian men. On top of that, the three female main characters were all pretty shallow and two-dimensional. I wanted to shake the lot of them. The plot was pretty dire and there wasn't really anything in it to warrant finishing it off and I think if I hadn't been ill, I wouldn't have bothered.
My advice would be to give this book a miss. It's definitely not one of her best. show less
