Description
Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. Humor (Fiction.) Aisling Grey is juggling being a demon lord, a Guardian, and a wyvern's mate, even though she's keeping her distance from said wyvern, Drake, these days. But her presence is still required at a meeting of the green dragons. Since several attempts have been made on her life, Drake is sure to get protective of her. Which might not be a bad thing when war breaks out and all hell breaks loose-literally.Tags

Aisling Grey is by far my favourite of all of the women in this dragon universe by Katie MacAlister! She is cute, sassy and the perfect female lead for this comedic, fantastical romance!
Drake and Aisling are definitely the "perfect" pair, at least in my eyes. Their relationship is definitely not "normal" by any means, but they work well together! As characters, they have the perfect mix of getting along, sexiness, and generalized drama and sassiness. I honestly couldn't see this pair with anybody else! However Katie made this pair, she did really well!
Aisling is becoming a Guardian, while her lover is a dragon. They have since "mated", so the story builds and gets more interesting from here. This is the second last book in the series show more for now, but I do hope we get more! Since I've read most of the dragon books, I can say she appears in future books but she isn't the lead.
The comedy in this book is spot on and amps it up from the last book. It definitely keeps the plot moving forward with lots of funny quirks, mixed in with the sexy Drake, super cute romance scenes and drama thrown in throughout. While the story does leave off in a place that feels like it doesn't need to be continued, I wish it would! These characters bond way too well together for this to be the absolute end. Maybe, if we're lucky, Katie will one day continue this series. So, cross your fingers!
I would definitely recommend this book to readers who love romance with a lot of comedy in it. The book doesn't take itself too seriously, with an abundance of jokes (and a lot of Jim, the main source of comedy, present again) throughout the book. The book has many fantasy elements (obviously - dragons), but isn't a purely dramatized novel. It's very fun, is borderline PG-13, and has ooey, gooey romance that makes you squirm and giggle along the way.
Overall, I love this book! I've read it way too many times to count and I'll keep reading it! It's one of those books I like to read when I'm having a bad day because it's just so much fun! Katie MacAlister is the QUEEN of dragon books!

Ah, this is convoluted and really needs a recent read of "You Slay Me" and it's sequel, which is why I was a little lost, I've only read the first one before this. It's been a while since I read the first one so I'm not sure if I remember some of the details correctly.
This is the story of Aisling being out of her depth, even further than the last story, cause now the supernaturals know about her but she's shockingly uninformed. Honestly if I had been her I would have locked myself in a room for a while reading the material I had been given about the politics and society around her and known what was going on, but I suppose as a way of introducing the reader to the world this is one way of doing it.
Enjoyable but not earth-shattering, I show more did want to shake her a few times. show less

I do not care about the dragon plotline. Not in the slightest. But that's okay, because there's also the issues Aisling is having with her mentor being in danger, her demon dog Jim eating an imp and the imps being out for revenge, and getting dragged to the demon world by an angry demon lord.
This is the third book in the Aisling Grey Guardian series by Katie MacAlister. I thought that this book was much better than the second book and much more on par with the first book.
Aisling is moving to London to start her Guardian training with Nora. Once again right from the beginning things start going wrong. She finds out Nora is being called in for questioning which could lead to Nora losing her rights to mentor Aisling. Then on her first outing with Nora; Jim eats the imp king. Now the imps are out for Aisling's blood. As if this wasn't enough Aisling finds out Drake is in town, the Red Dragons have declared war on Green Dragon sept, the London community wants Aisling to take over as Venediger (sp?), and everyone keeps telling show more Aisling she is pregnant (which she just can't believe).
This book was much better than the last book. I felt like the plot made a lot more sense. Many of the problems Aisling ran into were wrapped up nicely. Aisling and Drake actually start to have a decent relationship with each other. The problems Aisling gets into with the demon princes and with the dragons were interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
As with the other books this is a light, humorous read, that shouldn't be taken too seriously. Aisling gets too whiny at some points, and suffers a bit from being a damsel in distress more often than not. Drake is irritating with his need to control her; but in this book that is tempered some and we see Drake gaining some humanity. This is a quick, easy, and amusing read. There are a lot of sex scenes but they are creative and tastefully done. I am actually very excited to read the next book (which is something I couldn't say after the second book).
If you liked the first two books, this book shouldn't disappoint. show less

In this third installment of the Aisling Gray series, Aisling faces even more problems: Her Guardian mentor has been issued an injunction so she can no longer teach Aisling; Drake insists that she attend gatherings of the sept; a dragon war has broken out, and she is being considered in the running for both the office of the Venediger and as prince of Abaddon. And did I mention that she might be pregnant? And that she has mother-in-law issues?
There's a LOT going on in this book, and I think my main issue with the book was that it didn't end. It seemed like a 'through' installment with none of the copious problems that were introduced being resolved. I was amused by Jim (as usual) and Aisling's interactions with everyone in L'Au-dela, show more but the fact that Aisling simply doesn't know anything about the world she's been thrown into or about her responsibilities, is starting to get a little old.
Nonetheless, I'll definitely be in line to get the next book when it comes out. I just wish MacAlister would resolve some of the issues she already has going on rather than piling on even more trouble for Aisling. show less

In this third installment in the Aisling Grey, Guardian series Aisling has moved to London to become a proper Guardian, training under the only accredited Guardian willing to let her do so.
Despite her best efforts to normalise her life she gets further involved in dragon politics as her wyvern mate goes to war with another dragon clan.
This is an entirely unwanted complication of her life, coming on top of having become the target of large scale imp attacks due to a small incident involving her New Foundlander shaped demon.
She also finds herself involved in a powerstruggle over both the dominion of the Paris otherworld and Armageddon, where bailing out is no option. Who knew being a demonlord was so dangerous?
Aisling is as headstrong show more and clueless in this book as in the previous ones. But she is making an efford to reaching an understanding with the man of her life, while learning what she can of this world she has suddenly become embroiled in.
The sexscenes are a bit much, but on the whole the novel is a quick and fun read with a lot of action and comic relief. show less

Whenever I start reading these Aisling Grey books, I read all the girly-girl romance crap at the beginning and think to myself, I'm not going to read any more from this series after this one. I just don't have the time with all the other great books I've got waiting on my shelf. However, about halfway into the book, it begins to pick up the pace and grab my interest, and then ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger so that I'm looking forward to the next book again. LOL
This time, Aisling and Drake are romping around London, and as usual, Aisling is doing her best to keep herself alive. She's had one too many close brushes with death, and this time around is no different as she's got no less than three different groups gunning for her! Besides show more coming into some new, darker powers, she's also had quite a change of heart with regards to on-again/off-again her relationship with Drake, which now appears to be going strong! But if this will continue as her "dark side" continues to tempt her will remain to be seen in the next book. show less
