Description

Jones advises listeners to follow Jesus' examples as a motivational leader. She concentrates on three "strengths" in business: "self-mastery," "action," and "relationships" and she illustrates how Jesus' "strengths" can be put to use today.

Management consultant Laurie Beth Jones details a series of attributes for Jesus regarding his sense of mission and relationship with others and applies them to management. Each chapter is only two-three pages long culminating with a couple of questions to ponder. Although I purchased the book as an preaching resource, this book would also be beneficial with any that manages teams of employees.

Insightful, but not that deep or exceptional. Reads like a devotional. Sort of a friendly reminder to think about this notion today.
If you want to know how to lead others, look at Jesus, his biblical endeavors and the vast amount of wisdom for leadership development. With this book, Jones explores the parables, the relationships and the actions of Jesus and compiles these acts into leadership traits that others can learn from. Full of biblical insight from the Master, readers will enjoy the parallels between biblical accounts and modern day leadership situations. It is truly a WWJD book!
After many years in business Laurie Beth Jones was struck by the notion that Jesus' leadership approach with his staff ran counter to most of the management styles and techniques employed today. Dismayed to find invaluable human energy and intelligence untapped and underutilized, Jones has made it her goal to help empower people at all levels of leadership by encouraging them to review the divine excellence in themselves and in those they serve. By harnessing the three categories of strength behind Jesus' leadership techniques (the strength of self-mastery, the strength of action, and the strength of relationships), each of us can become the empowered leaders that the next millennium will require. Success in management requires all show more three strengths, and in Jesus, CEO, Laurie Beth Jones creates a plan to heighten awareness in each category and assists you in the process of mastering them all. Following the example of Jesus - a "CEO" who took a disorganized "staff" of twelve and built a thriving enterprise - Jesus, CEO: Using Ancient Wisdom for Visionary Leadership details a simple, profound, fresh and often humor-filled approach to motivating and managing others. show less
