Sometimes it is refreshing to just sit back and enjoy a feel good story, and that is what this book and this series is all about. There are conflicts and hardships in the story, but the romance and endearing qualities of the main characters just makes me feel good after reading about them.

This book is about Amelia North and her little girl Reece. They will find themselves stranded in Refuge, Illinois after a car wreck. Amelia is doing the best she can to prove to herself and her parents that she is a "fit" mother. Pararescue jumper Ben Dillinger will be the guy that comes to their rescue and who finds himself "freefalling" into love with this lady, who fights him every step of the way when he tries to help. Amelia will find safety and show more stability in the town and in giving her heart to Ben. As the back cover so adequately states about this series, "Wings of Refuge: these soldiers of the skies are fearless, faithful and falling . . . in love!" It is fun and enjoyable to watch! show less

Ben Dillinger falls fast and hard after rescuing Amelia and her daughter from a car crash. When he learns of their painful past, Ben longs to show Amelia unconditional love and stability. Will love survive in the face of family problems and past mistakes?

I enjoyed this now(to-me) author and will be tracking down her other books. It was a very cute story of love overcoming obstacles. Two small things bothered me though. First, Amelia's return to faith seemed to happen almost by accident with non of her thoughts or reactions to realizing God's love is unconditional. Second, Reece's age kept switching! Amelia would say her "indiscretion" was five years ago, but Ben would say Reece was seven. Not a huge plot point, but it irked me.

rabck book box from bookstopgive 09/11; Amelia's car breaks down in Refuge, Illinois. Starting with para-jumper, Ben, who comes to her rescue, the whole town takes her and her daughter in. Quite a difference from the cold shoulder she got from her old town and parent's when she had her daughter out of wedlock.
