Charlotte King is robbed and murdered in New York City. The police find Damon Tucker a few blocks away, running. They bring him to Charlotte and she seems to identify Damon before dieing. Damon also had $180.00 in his pocket and this was suspicious.
Arch Gold, veteran defense attorney gets the case.
Damon believes that the police are setting him up and Arch must prove Damon's innocence so he checks into Damon's story and comes to believe his innocence.
Checking with Damon's employer, Arch finds that Damon's take home pay is $180.00 and the reason he had it with him is that he way going to buy his mother a gift. Further, Arch finds that Charlotte King had been sleeping with her employer, the ruthless David Yates. Yates owns a P.I. firm show more that he plans to take public within a year and could make millions and Arch thinks the Charlotte knew something about David or the firm and was blackmailing Yates.
Yates tries to frighten Arch off the case but Arch continues and finds things out that should be read (Not want to give plot away).
Well done book with good characters and good drama. show less
