One of the all time great bedtime books. ( )

Sweet enough. My main criticism is that the pictures are so dark, it's really hard to read in a dim room, but dim rooms are my preference for bedtime stories. Also, I don't like the line "the very last kiss is almost here," I always read it as "the last kiss of the night is almost here." ( )

This lovely nighttime book uses repetition paired with beautiful animals and illustrations to help children settle into sleep. In each spread, the parent is saying goodnight to the young animal in a gentle, loving, and often easily replicable way. For example, when she says "snuggle in tight, that's right, like that", parents can snuggle in their children for the duration of the book. It's very sweet, lovely, and beautiful. ( )
