Title is misleading, this book is NOT about biodynamics. It has a 1 page "Origins of Biodynamics" but then tends to conflate biodynamics with organic gardening. For example "our ancestors practiced biodynamic gardening simply by not putting foreign materials into the soil or onto plants" and "biodynamics is a state of mind as much as a set of techniques" (p[4). Apparently the authors were afraid to use the word "spiritual". The author shows no understanding of the full implications of Biodynamics. He also leads the reader to believe they can claim to be biodynamic when, in fact, Biodynamic® is a registered trademark of the Demeter Association Inc. Either Demeter or Biodynamics.com could be consulted for further information about show more biodynamics.
There is no author bio to justify him as an expert on this topic.
As far as its competence as an organic gardening guide, it is very general and theoretical, not useful for practical application.
The book ends with a brief glossary & selected readings. The readings are fairly general books and none of them are texts published or carried by any biodynamic association.
