A highly informative, compact, miniature encyclopedia of sharks- complete with good photographs and illustrations. Brilliant buy and library addition for anyone who has an interest in sharks. The reading grade level is mild to moderate- so younger audiences shouldn't have too much trouble comprehending and there is enough there to retain adult interest level as well. This book covers a large variety of species and presents all kinds of facts- from well known to more hidden or obscure stories and truths.
I liked reading this book for many reasons. First, I liked that this book incorporates a variety of visual features. On every page there is a mix of photographs, illustrations, diagrams, and maps. I believe incorporating all of these different visual elements into the book gives the reader a multitude of perspectives on the topic. I also liked that this book had a glossary in the back. The glossary contained the definition of important vocabulary words used throughout the text. A glossary is especially helpful for young readers who may not know specific vocabulary related to sharks. The main idea of this book is important and interesting facts about sharks. This book explains the different species of shark, their diet, their habitat, show more and their interaction with humans. show less
