Stephen Krashen, PhD, is an advocate for free voluntary reading in schools. His published works include two editions of Libraries Unlimited's The Power of Reading: Insights from the Research. Krashen closely follows media coverage of local, state, and national activities that reflect on student learning. He responds with letters to the editor of show more journals and newspapers across the country to defend the rights of children to read, promote school and public libraries, and advocate having professionally trained and certified school librarians to support student reading.
