Anne Hawthorne is a professional wedding planner with a problem. She is falling for the groom of the wedding she is planning. George Laurence is the "stand-in groom" who is secretly filling in as the groom for his celebrity employer. Both Anne and George have strong feelings for each other but can't act upon them for obvious reasons. When Anne discoverrs the truth, can she learn to trust George and will more secrets destroy their relationship all together. Alot of fun twists and turns in the story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was an entertaining book! I really enjoyed it (even though I figured out plot components in advance of them happening :D). I'd happily pick up more books in the series. A clean read, with plenty of theological gems.

I really liked the Louisiana setting; having been to New Orleans, I was easily able to imagine the Bonneterre setting.
This was a fun read. A wedding planner (Anne) meets up with a man (George) to plan his wedding - but all is not as it seems. George is not really planning his wedding - he is planning the wedding of his client, a celebrity who wishes to keep things super-secret. So when Anne starts falling for George, and vice versa, an enjoyable story unfolds. I especially enjoyed the scenes with Anne's family and the Southern setting. Definitely good for a romantic escape.
This may be the first Christian Romance I've read and I enjoyed it very much. The characters were engaging and believable and the storyline moved along quite well. It is set in Bonneterre, Louisiana and sprinkled with little bits of cajun and creole spice.

Anne is a strong, independent woman who has survived the loss of her parents at an early age, and then the loss of her first love when a young woman. Although she was raised in a strong and loving extended family with a faithful reliance on God, these events colour her perspective on relationships. Despite these trials, Anne has become a successful wedding planner whose abilities are becoming known to the rich and famous. Enter the Bride-to-be and the Stand-In Groom and our story show more begins.

What follows is a heart-warming story of faith and love. I definitely recommend this book to lovers of romance novels!

This is quite the romance. Some could call it predictable, but I would not necessarily say that because one could not foresee all the twists and turns that are to occur before the outcome. I only think people will predict how they want it to end and just assume they will get it right. As I have said dozens of times before, I am not much a fan of contemporary romances, but I liked this one. That said, I did not necessarily love it. But I think that is because my heart is just stronger in the realm of historical fiction. (Definitely recommend Kaye Dacus' historical series The Ransome Trilogy!!)Some elements of a large family and good food were parts of this story that I am not used to reading in a book that I quite enjoyed. As well as show more imagining the scenes and hearing the British or Southern accents play through in the characters vernacular. This is my first contemporary experience with reading this author and it will not be my last. I do recommend this book, and look forward to reading the sequel soon in a few days. Things happen in life to get you where you need to be, and the hardest part is dealing with a painful event and believing that you will get past it. God knows what he is doing, and the part to remember is that things are best in his time and not in our own. I feel very uplifted from this book and the characters experiences. It makes me think over things from my own past and see more of God in them than I ever would have realized at the time. show less

Anne Hawthorne is an event planner who has been hired to handle an engagement party and wedding and in walks the bride and groom and immediately Anne is hit with a strong attraction to the groom. Fighting the appeal that she feels for her client, she works diligently to fulfill the couple's wishes but finds it harder and harder to fight the magnetism that she feels. Finally, because of George's opposition to lying to Anne, he informs her that he s not the 'groom' but just his stand-in. The detailed story of their romance is heart-warming as well as uplifting and truly an enjoyable experience.

This is the first book in the Brides of Bonneterre series. I won the second book in the series through the ER program and enjoyed it so much that I show more had to have the other two books as well. I am really looking forward to #3 later this year. show less
