Description

In Our Life in Gardens, renowned garden designers Joe Eck and Wayne Winterrowd provide information about the cultivation of plants and their value in the landscape, discussing the various parts of their garden and particular plants--roses and lilacs, snowdrops and cyclamen--and vegetables. The authors also discuss the development of their garden over time, and the dark issue that weighs more and more on their minds: its eventual decline and demise.

Nicely written book with personal reminiscences of growing vegetables in Vermont over the last 30 years. Fantastic illustrations by Bobbi Angell. The book is arranged plant by plant, and includes both good growing advice, some recipes, and history and anecdotes. It is not a 'how-to' manual on how to grow plants, more a memoir on the pleasures of growing and eating your own garden-produced food.
