This is the story of a family who is shipwrecked on a deserted island. It is a classic that I think students should read. It is well-written and exciting and it teaches students the importance of family/friends and that you can survive without many of our modern conveniences.
Shipwrecked! The Robinson family - shipwrecked on a desert island - must discover hidden strength in themselves to survive. Watch as they defend themselves against wild beasts, learn to hunt and fish, and to find shelter. As time passes, they grow to love the wild beauty of their island home, filled with rare animals, exotic birds and fragrant wild flowers. When a ship sails into their bay they must ask themselves if they really want to go home? This timeless story of inner resources and family love has thrilled and delighted young readers for over a hundred years.
This is a good castaway story about a family. Even if you've not read this book I'm sure you've seen one of the many theatrical versions, so you know the story. Its a good story and if you want to read a classic a good choice. The story is a little dated, however, and move rather slow.
Summary: The Robinson family, shipwrecked on a desert island, must discover hidden strength in themselves to survive.
