Sexy Cat Burglar + Gorgeous British Billionaire = Explosive Sparks (Literally)
Samantha Jellicoe is a world-class art thief, who has never been caught in the act. Until the night she tries to “lift” an ancient stone tablet from the Florida mansion of British billionaire, Richard Addison. Before she can react the room blows up and she’s wanted for murder.
Now her only option is to team up with Rick, and find the other person who broke in that night and tried to kill them. In the meantime, she must guard her heart by telling herself that he is nothing more than a causal partner (in more ways than one) and that everyone has an angle (even if she can’t figure his out), while trying to keep her hands cuff-free (even if she could pick show more the lock).
But Rick finds himself attracted to more than just her lithe body, but also her quick wit, intelligence, and sense of humor. He’s captivated by the thrill of this thief, who should be behind bars (for larceny, but he doesn’t believe for murder), whilst trying to keep her out of prison and in his bed (and his life). But how do you convince a woman conditioned to depend no one but herself that she needs you, almost as much as you need her?
I love this book! It reminds me of the In Death series by J.D. Robb. The dynamic between the characters really is explosive and funny, the action scenes are realistic and heart-pounding, the love scenes are steamy and pulse-racing (are we seeing a theme here). The mystery was just a tad predictable, but not the layers of it. Definitely one for the keeper shelf - a must read and re-read. And the best part is….there are sequels!! show less

This isn't usually my sort of romance at all, but I really enjoyed it...perhaps because the characters don't take a backseat to the mystery but continue to develop even as the storyline unfolds.
Yet another confirmation of the reliability of Publishers Weekly starred reviews. I've been let down so many times by Five Kisses or Five Roses (or Five Whatever) reviews on independent sites, but Old Faithful never fails.
I picked Flirting with Danger out of a short list of PW starred reviews and enjoyed every single page. The author's notes at the end, describing the genesis of the book, are some of the most intriguing and enlightening I've read. Ah, were all authors so honest and informative about the source of their ideas.
I picked up on the references to "To Catch a Thief" but missed the "Remington Steele" connection -- probably because I didn't watch much TV in the 80s.
I'm delighted to see this is the first of a series. Can't wait show more to read some of the others. show less

Great book - I loved reading about Samantha Jellicoe and Rick Addison. Samantha is a thief who gets caught by Rick Addison stealing from his house, but that same night a bomb is set and Sam saves Rick. She keeps coming back into his life and finally they make a deal to work together to find out who else was there the night Sam was there. An interesting ride, love the suspense and the romance was great. Very hot at times.
A lot of people compared this to J.D. Robb's In Death books. I didn't find the writing style nearly as good as Robb's. I'm also surprised that it got starred reviews from Publisher's Weekly and Booklist.
Entertaining contemporary by author Suzanne Enoch, who I am familiar with because of her historical romances. This is the first contemporary I've read of hers and it wasn't bad! Story of pretty and very clever young thief who takes on billionaire mogul after saving his life in an explosion while trying to steal a valuable antiquity from his Palm Beach mansion. Now the two have teamed up to find out who is trying to kill her, but they didn't count on falling in lust at the same time. Loved the locale and Rick and Sam make a good team together. Enjoyed this and will continue with the series.
Enjoyable story about cat burglar Samantha robbing rich investor Rick. As the author says “the unstoppable force meets the immovable object.” I liked the interaction between the main characters especially their cleverness and it had a good who-done-it plot.
