New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cherry Adair takes readers on a thrill ride through the frozen north where there are dangers greater than the bitter cold-and passions hot enough to melt ice.

Cherry Adair's show more novel, ON THIN ICE, features veterinarian Lily Munroe, who believed she'd married an honest, dependable man, but discovered she was painfully mistaken. On her honeymoon, she watched as her once-loving husband became a secretive stranger-mixing with shady people and making dangerous deals. Although Lily nursed him through a sudden terminal illness, her marriage was over long before he passed away. During that difficult time, only her passion for the exhilarating Iditarod race across Alaska gave her something to look forward to, and she channeled her emotions into training dogs for the grueling event.

Six years have passed since rancher Derek Wright fell in love with Lily. He's bided his time and bitten his tongue, doing nothing to undermine her marriage. Even when he knew exactly what Lily's husband was up to. Derek isn't letting another minute go by without courting Lily-he's a man who doesn't waste second chances.

Derek Wright is a man Lily dubs Mr. Wrong. Extremely sexy and devilishly charming, Derek is the consummate playboy. Or is he? Although Lily can't deny her intense attraction, she believes he is dangerous to her scarred heart. Little does she know that Derek is an elite anti-terrorism agent.

But now there's even more to worry about than the harsh elements. The frozen wilds of Alaska are perilous, the ice and snow as beautiful as they are deadly. Lily meets with a series of suspicious accidents, and, whether she likes it or not, Derek is determined to keep her safe. The stubborn woman tries everything she can to shake him and take the lead until it becomes obvious that the "mishaps" plaguing her along the trail are something far more sinister. Will Lily survive the race and Derek's proclamation of love?

The Iditarod trail runs from Anchorage to Nome in the arctic. Mushers test their skill, their dogs and themselves as the race their sleds through the cold, ice and snow conditions in a race that lasts more than 10 days. This is the background for the suspense in this story of thwarting terrorists, while trying to woo the girl.

Definitely a romance with action. The premise is over-the-top but it is a fun, escapist read.
This story might take place in ice cold Alaska, but it is scorching HOT! In true Cherry Adair fashion it's full of action and hot romance with sexy TFLAC agent Derek Wright and veterinarian Dr. Lily Munroe in the middle of the wilds of Alaska's annual Iditarod race. Trying to uncover who is running the sale of illegal bull sperm on their ranch sends an assassin after Lily with Derek as her only protection and of course there's some terrorist that plant a bomb and they are the only two around to diffuse the bomb! I loved this book and it was hard to put it down.
Great book. I love the detail in this book. It's a great pace and keeps your attention all the way through. I love the dogs! Dingbat is precious! I love that Cherry Adair keeps with the idea of dog sledding and pulls it into the action and events throughout the book. Derrick is SO sexy and I love his personality and determination to get what or who he wants. I really loved the end but I won't be giving any spoilers in this review...
I will say that I love that Cherry made the effort to understand twins as Derrick in On Thin Ice and Kane in Out of Sight are twin brothers. They compliment each other but aren't exact copies of each other personality wise and as a twin myself I love it!

Derek has waited for years for another chance with Lily. Lily has abandonment issues and doesn't trust what she feels for Derek. Lily is a vet and Derek a T-FLAC agent and rancher. When they head to the Iditarod race, Lily is targeted and Derek has to stop terrorist attack while keeping Lily alive and trying to convince her to give them a chance. I didn't like how Lily ran from the intense passion she had from Derek, but the story was engaging.
I really liked this book! It had a good story - see below and kept me interested through the entire book.

While enduring a failing marriage and the loss of her husband to a terminal illness, Lily Munroe found release in her passion for the exhilarating Iditarod race across Alaska. Now single again, she's more determined than ever to win the competition, awaken her sense of self, and leave her past behind.

The person to beat is two-time winner Derek Wright, a man Lily dubs Mr. Wrong. Derek is extremely sexy and devilishly charming, and Lily can't deny her intense attraction. Little does she know that Derek is an elite antiterrorism agent whose skills she'll need to stay alive. For once the race begins, Lily meets with a series of show more suspicious accidents. Derek vows to keep her safe - no matter how hard she tries to shake him and take the lead. As the spirited contest turns into a race for survival, Lily and Derek must battle their growing attraction...and a ruthless assassion with a directive to kill. show less

Decent romance, but a little more far fetched than White Heat. This is still a TFLAC operative - but he's in love with a Vet - Lily and someone is trying to kill her on the Ididerot race - so it's a little crazed but still good.
I liked this book. It kept my attention and I found that I cared about the characters.
