Perfectly serviceable political potboiler: dead reporter, charismatic senator with something to hide (and a few people to kill), a garrulous Speaker who wants to know what's going on - sounds like a job for "invesigator" Joe DeMarco. But can he get to the bottom of it before somebody puts him out of business for good?
Joe DeMarco is in over his head. A powerful, charismatic Senator, poised to become the next President, has a dark secret. One that will get a lot of people killed. Maybe even DeMarco

Political intrigue is presented here. Joe DeMarco is a lawyer who works for the Speaker of the House. He's never been in court but is often asked to do various things for his boss. He's been asked to investigate the death of a mediocre journalist who was probing into the different events associated with the possible next President of the U.S., Senator Paul Morelli. The ending isn't very plausible.
