Description

Fantasy. Fiction. Romance. Nicholas Argeneau is not your typical rogue hunter in The Renegade Hunter, the latest installment of the Rogue Hunter series from New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands. Though he spent centuries targeting vampires who break the immortal laws, for the past 50 years Nicholas has been a rogue himself. But then he saves a beautiful mortal from a terrifying bloodsucker, and everything changes . . .

I don't know how these books keep getting better but they do. I like how Ms. Sands has now made a single enemy tied into the family's lives. Makes things more intriguing. I Loved, loved, LOVED Jo that woman is one spicy pepper. And smart to boot. I love how she had figured things out so quickly and so easily. But I love her spark the most, and I love love LOVE LOOOOVE the way she stood up to Lucian. that had me rolling sideways on that one. This is one book you have GOT to read in this series. It's a must read, sex scenes spicy, quirkiness as expected, and the family bond the Argeneau's and their mates seem to have it's just awesome.
You would think after 12 of these books that I would grow tired of them. While they do have a very similar plot point, immortal finds lifemate, etc, each book and characters are very different and somehow each book ends up being fresh and fun.

I really enjoyed this installment in the Argeneau series. Jo and Nicholas were both great characters. I really loved Jo, she was so sassy and funny and smart. She kept Nicholas on his toes, and that's hard to do with someone who is centuries old. This one had the great twist of trying to figure out why Nicholas had become and rogue, and then trying to figure what exactly happened all those years ago, and if all the suspicious blanks could make a difference.

Overall, this book was light and funny, show more but still managed to be full of action and mystery. I love how the characters from other books in the series always seem to play into the new books so that you can see how each of their lives are progressing, without the story feeling overdone or becoming boring. If Lynsay Sands keeps making them so fresh then I'm sure to stick with this series for a long time to come. show less
There was at least one part that made me laugh really hard, and that's always fun. I wasn't ready for the abrupt ending, but I suppose the loose ends will be tied up in the next book in the series. Lynsay Sands really knows how to write likeable characters and steamy passion.
Another hit in my book. I love a good vampire story and Sands never fails to deliver. Great characters and an exciting plot and just the right amount of steamy goodness make for the best combo. Looking forward to reading book #13 as I work my way through the series.
Another vampire book, I don’t know how I keep finding these, other then the fact that they are everywhere. I got this one from a yard sale, and was pleasantly surprised that it had me turning pages from the very beginning to the end.
Josephine ‘Jo’ Willan was at a party with her sisters when she steps out for some fresh air (and to get away from all the creepy behavior from the guys at the party) when she is attacked. But before her attacker can make a snack out of her, she is rescued by Nicholas Argeneau who gets locked up for his troubles.
After breaking him out of his prison cell, Jo is lead into a world she never imagined possible, and she takes her snarky wit along for the ride. Excellent, I’ll be looking for others from this show more series. show less
With such a fun cast of characters at her fingertips, fans have come to enjoy Sand’s Argeneau’s clan over the years. With stories like that of Lucern’s (my special favorite!), Lucian, Victor, Thomas, Etienne, Vincent, and Lissiana’s stories fans have come to depend upon the consistent writing that she’s created for us: the quirky, mirthsome, sun- challenged tribe. Which is why I found RH, such a surprise.

The Renegade Hunter is the third of Sand’s peripheral offshoot into the lives of the enforcers of the Argeneau clan (The Rogue Hunter, The Immortal Hunter). Renegade Hunter takes off and continues the storyline that was started in The Rogue Hunter, that of the lives of Samantha Willan and Garrett Mortimer. This time the show more story is about Samantha’s sister Jo who becomes involved with the black sheep of the Argeneau clan and rogue through a happenstance occurrence at Sam’s and Garrett’s “introduction party”: Nicholas Argeneau manages to save her life.

RH seems somewhat harried with regard to quality. By comparison, Sands’ oeuvre has been largely consistent. When I see her books on the shelf, I grab them immediately. In fact I have them all because I am such a fan. But to be fair and honest with regard to Renegade Hunter, I couldn’t help but feel that the “love connection” was lacking and altogether limp between Nicholas and Jo. This could be because the first 50% of the book is mired in a glacially slow prose with little or no plot to engage readers in forming a link with the main characters. The action does not truly evolve until you hit mid-point. If you are a fan like I am, and are very forgiving, muddle through it until mid-way and don’t give up. You will find Sand’s signature recipe present from that point on.

My hubby got me this book for Christmas and I had it read in two days. Another great addition to the Argeneau series. The characters are lovable as ever and, of course, many of the other characters come in to play with this novel as well. I was slightly disappointed with the ending. I don't mind being left hanging (much), but I like to know that the next book is going to answer my questions. This book didn't do that.
