Charles Whiting the world's most prolific military author saw action in north west Europe with the 52nd Lowland Reconnaissance Regiment. Graduating from the University of Leeds he has lectured at the Universities of Bradford, Saarbrucken, Trier and Maryland. He also worked for the US Army as an adviser and in 1976 he gave up his academic career as show more associate professor to become a full-time writer and military historian.
