Barney's adoption is not yet finalized, and he is insecure about his new parents' love. In his state of anxiety, he falls prey to the enticements of Tibbo, a young alien, who offers him a trip to his home planet. When Barney discovers how deep his ties to his new family and community really are - and finds out that Tibbo neglected to mention that he'll be away for 100 years - it may be too late to back out!
