A pretty hefty read. Heavier than 'Deadline' and not as much action to move the story along. For a novel, it is a comprehensive look at racial prejudice against African Americans in America. Similar theme of heaven and what it might be like as in 'Deadline'. Enjoyed the references to 'The Chronicles of Narnia' and C.S. Lewis. The storyline of Ty and his gang involvement moves to the forefront early on in the book, is full of action and dilemma, but then completely disappears until close to the end. I spent a lot of the second half wondering where he was and what was happening to him. Jake, Janet and Carly reappear and their story continues to develop.

This is the second book in Randy Alcorn's series. While it was still a good story, I just didn't like this book as much as the first one or the third one. I highly recommend the last book in this series! It was the best.
Another great read by Randy Alcorn!
